EASTER SUNDAY

Blooming Beauty

I'm especially excited for Easter this year, because my mom and dad + fur sister & brother are coming to visit! I am sad that I won't be home in Kentucky like usual, but at least I will get some much needed parental quality time. Not exactly sure what all we will get into, but I think a lot of relaxation is in store (mostly because there will be three fur children involved and I don't know how long I trust them in my apartment by themselves - who knows what we will come home to?!). I left Heidi out by herself for the first time Wednesday while I was at work and thank goodness she was a good girl! I'm convinced she sat by the front door all day waiting for me to come home - no doubt she was confused by my very long absence (normally she cuddles in her crate while I'm gone).

Now onto the beauty goods!

I've already found some super cute spring clothing pieces that I will be pulling out for this holiday weekend (assuming the weather stays nice) and I always plan a pretty outfit for Sunday brunch, which is a family tradition. We aren't much for cooking on Easter so we always choose a hotel with great atmosphere and great food. I'm there more for the atmosphere as I'm not a very food driven individual...although I love all the sweets, candy and treats! Side note: I found the most delicious little chocolate multi-colored square treats at Fresh Market (okay I didn't find them, one of my clients did hah) and they are delicious! The first time I tried them was last weekend at a Cabi party and I should probably be embarrassed by how many times I retreated to the kitchen to sneak a couple more - sorry not sorry right?! They are very tart which I love and come in several different flavors. You can find them at the pastry counter.

Anyways...

I've picked out several items I feel are Easter appropriate and scream "Hello Spring!" Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they would be just fine if they never saw snow again? Maybe on Christmas morning and then that's it - no more. I feel like Easter is a great occasion for a bright lip! One of my all time favorites is YSL in Lingerie Pink. I actually wore this a couple Easter's ago and was shocked that when we left brunch it looked like my lipstick hadn't moved - no joke!

Some other beauty items I plan to use to brighten the day are Milani's Delizioso baked blush and Covergirl's Full Lash Bloom mascara (thanks to my gal pal Nikki for this product) and I plan to line my lips with Urban Decay's 24/7 Native lip pencil (this is very long lasting). As for my outfit, I've picked out the cutest palazzo pants from Melly M - pictured above - that I purchased at the end of summer last year in a super cute boutique (Punch Boutique). I've paired them with a black camisole from J.Crew Factory (50% right now) and these adorable Luccia Wedges from Jack Rogers in platinum. It's a change from the usual springy dress, but still colorful and dressy.

I also have to give a huge thank you and shout out to my amazing grandparents for the most wonderful East basket care package. My grandmother reads my blog and she purchased items I've been wanting! Love her!

I hope you and your families have a beautiful Easter!

  1. Love the pants! On the hunt for a similar pair! (on a side note, did you know that a lily putlizer collection is coming to target?)
