It's Tuesday so let's talk Tarte!

While having my makeup done at Sephora {I love to do this when I'm purchasing a lot of products and want to make sure I love them first} I stumbled upon this amazing contouring face slenderizer. The makeup artist, Kelly, used this to contour my cheeks, forehead, nose, and bottom lip. The result was beautiful! I use this product with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. The brush is dense enough that it keeps the contour line from smudging all around. You can also use a damp Beauty Blender! The sculptor in Park Avenue Princess is a beautiful shade - not too orange and not too dark. It makes defining certain areas like the nose and bottom lip very easy. The precision of this crayon makes contouring a breeze. If you love contouring or need help making your definition more precise, give this a try!

Good Morning!

I'm so happy to be back online today and ready to share more beautiful products. Today I'm talking about Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powders. This illuminating powder has become a highly coveted product among bloggers and You Tubbers, specifically the color Opal. I purchased my first powder in Moonstone {they were out of Opal}, but I love the color. Moonstone is slightly lighter than Opal, which I think matches lighter skin tones better. The second powder I recently purchased is Champagne Gold. A beautiful true gold that Jaclyn Hill raves about. When I first saw the product in person I was actually a little scared. It is very gold. But, once applied to the face this powder creates a beautiful glow, even on fairer skin types. I highly recommend these powders for highlighting the cheekbones, cupid's bow and center of the nose. I couldn't find Champagne Gold at Sephora or Ulta so I purchased it directly from Becca Cosmetics online.

See you Tuesday!

As a self-proclaimed beauty addict, it can be hard to use up items entirely. Mostly because every day I want to use something new or something different. Different colors, textures, looks. I've been collecting products as I use them up and decided I now have enough to share. Some have become loves and some are total misses {not for me}. I've listed everything below with a short review.

Read review here.

I've heard a lot of hype about these makeup removing wipes, but I'm just not a fan. The fragrance is okay, but the wipes themselves are very dry and I don't feel like they properly remove my makeup. I did use the entire container in an effort to save $, but I won't be repurchasing. The plus - you don't have to rinse your face off after using!

I have to say the jury is still out on this product. I've had my MAC Fix+ for quite a while and am a huge MAC lover, but don't know if I like the way this setting/refreshing spray disperses from the bottle. Maybe I just got a dud pump, but it always sprayed unevenly and I never felt like I saw results.

At first I thought this would be a love, but I didn't like the lotion consistency. Instead of foaming like a traditional shaving cream, EOS Shave Cream is a non-foaming lotion. The smell is amazing, but I felt like the texture was too thin for my sensitive skin. I've actually stopped using shave cream altogether and use the razors with the built in shaving cream bar.

This liner is amazing. I haven't touched another eye liner in months. Yesterday I found this product in brown and love it even more! For work I like a less intense look. If you've never tried this liner you need to. So much easier to create a winged look with the beautiful felt tip.

I received this sample size when I purchased my Lorac Pro Palette {also a love}. My skin has never reacted porely{haha} and I much prefer this silicone-like texture. I actually feel like my makeup went onto my face smoother and stayed on longer. Will purchase the full size!

This has become a cult favorite, but I am pretty certain this is causing me to break out every time I use it under my foundation. My last break out was so bad I'm scared to ever use this primer again. A lot of people absolutely love it, but I think I will stick with my Lorac and Mac primers.

Omg! Such a pretty self tanner. The perfect color of brown with no orange. I will repurchase this product forever and ever. I am currently trying out their self tanning lotion that slowly builds color over days of use and will let you know what I think!

Gorgeous. You need it. Buy it.

I much prefer my MUA lip gloss in Baby Pink. Originally i thought I would love this nude, but it's much too dark on me. I have an aversion to nude lipsticks with too much brown. On someone with a darker complexion it would be really pretty! I also can't decide if I like the peppermint smell.

I hope these reviews helped and I will be back with some more empties soon!

It's Monday again - the start of a new week and new posts! Today I'm talking about a simple, but essential product {HD finishing powder}. My all time favorite used to be Makeup Forever, but then I tried NYX's HD Photogenic Finishing Powder and it's an amazing dupe. I've never had a powder that sets my under eye quite like the NYX powder. I never have any mascara smudges or creasing. It's slightly drying, but great for long days at work or out in the heat during the summer. AND the NYX powder will last you for a very long time {keep in mind the Makeup Forever powder shown is a deluxe sample}. The price difference is $25! Give it a try!

See you on Tuesday!

Happy Friday readers! I don't know about you, but it has been one long, hectic week. I probably say that every Friday as my life is usually rather stressful. Some glitz and shimmer always perks up my spirit and today is no different. I wanted to feature some of my favorite bracelets to stack from Southern Belle Glitz. You can wear them alone or all together {and in my opinion more arm candy is always better}. The Oxford Stretch Bracelets can be found here & come in so many fun colors! I prefer neutrals, but there is something for everyone.

Make sure to check out Pardon Muah's Picks for additional arm candy.

See you all on Monday!

What is the natural color of my hair?
The current color of my hair is almost an exact match to my natural color, with the exception of my buttery highlights - that I love! I've always had bleach blonde highlights, but I'm loving a more buttery color for fall.

What is the texture of my hair?
My hair is very thick, frizzy and what I would consider coarse. My mom and I have an almost identical hair type. In an effort to downsize the poof, I get the under side of the crown of my hair razor cut so that I can tease my locks without all the weight. I don't razor the sides though, because I think it makes my hair look too thin when it grows out.

Naturally straight or curly/wavy?
Curly/wavy. When I was younger I had bright blonde ringlets and now it is much darker and much more wavy.

Do you have a specific hair care routine?
Wash. Brush. Use Macadamia Nourishing Leave-in Cream. Let hair air dry as long as possible. Blow dry using paddle brush. Straighten or Straighten & Curl. Use hair oil to minimize frizz.

How long did it take me to grow out my hair this long?
When I moved in May of 2013 my hair touched the top of my shoulders. Today, my hair, when straight, comes down passed my chest! I have always had very long hair, except when I cut it off for Locks of Love several years ago.

Any tips for others who want to grow out their hair?
Always use a heat protectant, don't over color, don't use too much bleach, give your hair days where you wear it in it's natural state, and I've also heard Biotin works for hair growth, but make sure to check with your hairstylist what works best for your hair type. A lot of hair growth has to do with genetics. I've always had nails and hair that grow very fast and my mom is the same way.

What shampoo & conditioner do I use?
Keratin Complex Shampoo & Conditioner - my bottles are actually silver, which may be newer packaging. The smell is also way yummier than the original.

What types of hair brush/comb do I use?
CHI Air Brush {got this at TJ Maxx}
Cricket Carbon Comb {the best comb ever}. Since it is made of carbon, it is melt proof! So you can use it while straightening and it won't wilt. I got mine at a beauty supply store.

What type of blow dryer to I use?
I use a CHI blow dryer that I've had for YEARS. The best blow dryer ever. I couldn't find an exact match, but how awesome is this CHI.

What type of flat iron do I use?
GHD. I went through 3 CHIs before realizing they just weren't lasting long enough. I love love love my GHD and would purchase another in a heart beat.

Favorite flat iron spray?

Favorite hair curling tool?

Favorite thickening spray?
Bumble & Bumble Dry Spun Thickening Spray. This stuff is amazing - definitely worth the 20 some dollars it costs. I always use this when using my curling wand.

Favorite hair oil?

How long does it take me to do my hair - shower to finish?
Sadly, over an hour. If I need to shampoo, condition, shave, exfoliate, blow dry, straighten & curl, we are talking quite a while! Plus my hair takes forever to dry. I usually have to plan ahead before washing & styling my hair and I always do it at night, because I don't have time in the morning.

How often do I wash my hair?
I usually wash my hair twice a week. My hair takes a long time to get greasy {thank goodness} even with product and hair spray. It is actually much better for your hair to wash less often.

How do I get Voluminous Curls?
I always use my straightener even when using my curling wand. I straighten the top 1/4 of my hair so that it is smooth and all the stray aways are in place. Then I use my curling wand, waiting to brush out the curls until after they are completely cool. Once cool I brush them out with my paddle brush, tease, tease, tease and hairspray. I also use some hair oil on the ends by scrunching into the bottom of my hair.

Who cuts & colors my hair?
Lexington, Kentucky - Brittney Groneck Miles Salon & Spray Tanning
Northern Kentucky - Lauren Hale The Color Room
Virginia - Shelley Adams Bang It's A Hair Thing
These ladies are amazing at what they do!

If I forgot anything please let me know! I know this post was super lengthy, but there were a lot of questions to answer and there are so many hair products that serve so many purposes.

I know I didn't talk about my natural hair, but I'm saving that post for another day!

A couple of weeks ago I promised a post on my favorite concealers. Not just for under eye circles or highlighting, but for covering ugly, annoying blemishes. I have a plethora of high-end favorites for highlighting under my eyes, but I will save that post for another day. For now let's dive into the major correctors. Out of my collection, I've picked the products I feel truly cover bumps & blemishes and stay on throughout the day.

NYX HD Photogenic Concealer {CW Porcelain} - I find this is the best drugstore concealer I have found. The concealer thick is enough to cover, but thin enough to layer. I strongly believe this is a must have, especially at $5!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer {Chantilly} - I have talked about this concealer before and it is a cult favorite among beauty gurus everywhere. It comes at a pretty cost, but you won't be disappointed. This concealer covers my under eyes, my dark spots and my blemishes. Sometimes concealers don't get rid of the redness or darkness, but this one definitely does.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer {NW15} - MAC's Pro Longwear concealer is another cult favorite. I have to say this is my favorite concealer for highlighting as well as for covering blemishes. A little goes a long way and the product will last you a very long time! The only con...if you drop the glass bottle it will most likely shatter {and you will probably cry}.

Covergirl & Olay The De-Puffer Eye Concealer {310 fair} - This is a surprise favorite of mine. I tried this product after receiving a $4 off coupon. I was pining for the First Aid Beauty under eye de-puffer, but saw this and figured it might be comparable. The best part of the product is that it has a silver, chilly tip that helps reduce swollen under eyes. The concealer itself if nice and thick and makes you look quite awake.

Benefit Boi-ing Industrial Strength Concealer {01} - Benefit's boi-ing is an industrial concealer, meaning it's meant for hiding very dark spots and areas you want to disguise. I don't like to put this under my eyes because it is so thick, but I definitely use it to conceal spots on my face.

Drum roll please! My all time FAVORITE!
MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 {NW15} - This is my absolute favorite concealer for blemishes. Like boi-ing I don't put this under my eyes, but it is the best product I've ever used for concealing major blemishes. The formula is very thick, keeping the product from sliding around your face. I've had mine for quite some time and I still have a lot of product left! I think every girl needs this in her life.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely Wednesday!

Alright let's talk fall nails! I've already started embracing the darker colors of the season. Wine, Cobalt & Emerald are some of my favorites and so beautiful mixed together and paired with neutrals. I'm predicting wine will be my signature color this fall/winter and I've already started buying basic slouchy sweaters & even work out gear {here & here}. Cobalt blue joins my family of favs for a very sporty collegiate reason. If you haven't read my about me page, I attended the University of Kentucky and our colors are Blue & White. Now that I've moved out of Kentucky I enjoy watching the basketball & football teams play even more! As for Emerald, I seem to have a new found love of green. Primarily kelly green and emerald. I received my green polish above in a subscription box and love the color! The only downside is that it will stain your nails an awful shade of blue-green if you don't put down a thick base coat.

Lately, I've been loving Orly's Bonder base coat and their Sec N' Dry top coat.

Some other fall colors I'm loving are here, here & here.

Have a lovely Tuesday and go put on some pretty polish!

Like most gals & guys, I get a large majority of my makeup, hair, home & cooking inspiration from Pinterest {pinspiration}. As one of my girlfriends says, you get the satisfaction of online shopping without actually spending tons of money. Yes, Pinterest may be a time drain and a distraction, but oh so satisfying! Pinning is probably one of my favorite, lazy day pastimes. Please stop by my boards to check out what I'm loving & feel free to follow via pardonmuahpins.
