I was shocked Saturday morning when I woke up and realized that winter was ragging outside. A blizzard of snow and the realization that I was going to stay inside all day long (not complaining). So naturally I spent some extra time doing my makeup and picked out some coral colored products so that my makeup somehow combated the dark, cold weather. 

Two of my favorite coral makeup items are Milani's Luminoso and Lime Crime's Babette.

Luminoso is probably the prettiest baked blush Milani makes. The color is a light pinky coral and it's build able so you don't end up with bright orange cheeks after one swipe (I'm not a fan of very pigmented blushes).

Lime Crime's Babette is a beautiful super pigmented coral lipstick. On some people it has a pink hue, but on my lips it's a true lighter coral. The consistency mimics Tom Ford's - thick, but creamy at the same time and very long wearing.

Snow, snow, snow, snow, more snow...go away snow!

I love the first two or three weeks of winter. I get to sport my new sweaters and my pretty coats and I get to wear Uggs (probably the best part of winter period). But then I'm done...bored and tired of cold and ready for warm weather, jean shorts and lots of sun. One of my biggest gripes with winter is the fact I have to take so much stuff to work. Because I normally teach at Pure Barre after I leave the office, I have to bring a separate coat, leggings, a top, Uggs, etc. and after a while it's so annoying.

Today I'm sharing a couple Insta pics from this past snow week. Luckily, I got to spend two days at home working which was amazing - I think Heidi greatly enjoyed not spending time in her crate. I got to wear my pajamas, drink excessive amounts of Keurig coffee and actually got a lot done due to the quiet nature of my apartment. 

I hope that you are enjoying your snow days (unless you're down south...lucky ladies). I know I'm glad to have the weekend off, because we are expecting even more snow and ice.

Empty Products

It's been quite a while since I've done an empties post. Partly because I rotate products so they don't run out quickly, and partly because I forget to save them and throw things out - oops!

Today, I have quite a few things to share with you. Using products up completely is a great sign you liked it (duh i know), but sometimes I feel the need to use things in their entirety because it feels like a waste of money if I don't. Above you'll see hearts on products I love and x's on products I won't repurchase.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express 
My favorite self tanner to date. Beautiful quick color!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
My favorite brand of dry shampoo. I recently bought the zebra pattern and love it!

Loreal Elnett Satin Hairspray Unscented
This is an amazing hairspray. It keeps hair in place but soft and touchable and also doesn't make it feel dirty after multiple sprays. The unscented version is my preference as I have quite the aversion to the scented version.

Bikini Bump Blaster
I used these bikini line pads after shaving & showering, but I don't feel like I noticed a huge difference and they do sting, especially if you use them under your freshly shaved arms.

Lush D'Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap
The smell and look of this shaving soap are amazing! Sadly, I felt like it took too much product which made it run out quickly. And if water hit the soap before I put it onto my skin it dissolved.

Glam Glow Supermud
The rave reviews are so true! Glam Glow makes (pricey) yet fantastic products. The supermud clearing mask really does clear out pores and leaves your face feeling clean and refreshed.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
Ammmazziinngg! The formula of this primer is beyond luxurious. It has a milk-like consistency and it feels so good on the skin. It didn't break me out and kept my makeup in place for hours.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
No brainer. You need it. Buy it. This cream comes at an affordable price and great quality. First Aid Beauty makes facial products that are good for the skin and aren't filled with perfumes and additives. I have super sensitive skin and this is my favorite every day moisturizer.

NARS Creamy Concealer
The NARS concealer should be a staple of every girl's makeup collection. The coverage is amazing - great for highlighting, covering dark circles and spot concealing blemishes. It's comparable to MAC's prolongwear concealer, but easier to use on a daily basis due to the applicator.

Make Up Forever HD Finishing Powder
This is an awesome under eye setting powder. It keeps your concealer in place all day long and keeps your mascara from transferring under the eye. I probably won't repurchase, because NYX makes a great hd powder for a third of the price.

The Body Shop Peach Body Butter
Okay ladies this body lotion smells so good you'll be tempted to eat it - no joke! Every scent is incredible, but the peach and coconut are my favorites. I like to use this lotion before bed, because it leaves your skin conditioned all through the night. This is the longest lasting body butter I've ever used.

MAC Makeup Wipes
I've talked about these wipes several times. They are THE best makeup wipes I've ever used. They are much more saturated with makeup remover than any other wipes I've ever tried, which keeps you from using several every night.

Curly Pudding

Let's talk curls curls curls!

This is the BEST - I said BEST curl cream of all time! I have naturally curly hair (the picture above is my hair when it air dries) and I have tried curl cream after curl cream after curl mousse and nothing ever satisfied my curl craving...until I tried Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding. I saw this product on display at Target and decided to give it a try. I think the main reason I was attracted to it was the delicious grape smell. It's like candy.

After using the curly pudding I was amazed. I can use a generous amount of the pudding while my hair is damp and it leaves my hair frizz free and so soft. If you have naturally curly hair you'll completely understand the importance of a curl product that doesn't leave you with crunchy, stick like curls. Another perk is that you can use additional product after your hair is dry and it still looks amazing. Many times I will wake up, rewet my hair, apply more product and viola!

This product is pricier than the normal drugstore curl cream, but it lasts for a very long time (and I have the smaller size than pictured above). Granted I don't wear my hair naturally curly as much as I should. Lately, I try to make a conscious effort to let my hair go heat free.

I strongly recommend you try this curly pudding and see for yourself.

Quick tips for naturally curly hair:
1. Don't brush when wet, scrunch dry with towel
2. While damp scrunch in curly pudding and a frizz cream (I use Macadamia Leave-in Conditioner)
3. Let hair air dry!


Hello Monday!

I know that most bloggers are talking about Spring, bright pastels and summer sandals (trust me I cannot wait for warm weather), but today I'm spotlighting my favorite winter scarf of all time. The Red Classic Plaid Fringe Scarf from Sheinside

Tomorrow is the day - Valentine's Day!

How many of you are going to see 50 Shades of Grey!? I can't wait to see how many boys get dragged to the theater for some 50 Shades fun.

Lately, I've been using a lot of the same products each and every morning.
My work makeup routine is pretty much a science for me at this point and I usually don't get up until the last second, so once I do there isn't a lot of time to peruse my makeup collection and take my sweet time. SO - I would say I consistently take around 15 minutes to do my makeup every morning. Some people may debate me on this, but I really do. A huge time saver for me is having the products picked out and ready to go. I have a three drawer unit in my bathroom and all of my makeup I plan to use goes in the top drawer, along with my makeup brushes. Sometimes I even pull things out the night before, leaving them on the counter in the order I'm going to use them. 

Trust me, I truly enjoy getting ready at a glacial pace, taking lots & lots of time to perfect my makeup, but Monday - Friday that's just not going to happen (if i want any sleep). Below are the products I've been using. Remember, I work in a corporate environment so I have to keep things fairly light and conservative. I still give myself a slight wing and lots of mascara, but I rarely use eye shadow and I leave the bright lipstick at home.

Eye Highlight

I love finding dupes!

Today's dupe is Bella Chiffon, but first let's talk about eye highlighting. I love love love a good eye highlight. Basically placing an eye shadow on the inner corner of the eye to brighten and open. I think it makes an enormous difference and it takes two seconds to apply (I usually apply with my finger).

MAC's Nylon has been a very popular shade with beauty bloggers for a long time and I actually started using this in high school. Recently, I purchased Bella Chiffon from CVS from Milani's Bella Eyes collection. The formula of this gel powder eye shadow is so smooth and creamy. The shadows are great quality at $4.49 (compared to MAC's $16).

If you haven't tried to highlight the inner corners of your eye you need to give it a try and Bella Chiffon is a great product to test out. It's wonderful on the lid as well, but beautiful as a highlight! 


Elf LIp Exfoliator

Thanks to a very dry & cold winter, I have had the worst time trying to exfoliate my lips, hands & body. I've tried several different lip exfoliating products, but ELF's Lip Exfoliator is by far the best! AND it's only $3...yes $3! Let me tell you why I love it.

The steps to use this exfoliator are much less complicated and less messy than others. I don't have much time in the mornings so I need something simple & easy. Some lip exfoliators are creams or gels and must be rubbed into the lips and washed off, usually leaving gritty pieces behind. But ELF's exfoliator is a solid (basically lipstick) that rubs off dead skin without leaving a mess to wash off. Simply wet your lips and much like applying lipstick, swipe the exfoliator back and forth. After I use a wash cloth to wipe off my lips. Then I apply a lip balm and I'm good to go!

I've never been more excited for Friday to come. Okay, maybe that is a tad dramatic, but this week exhausted me. I'm ready for girl's night Saturday, Pure Barre, lots of Starbucks and some quality cuddle time with Heidi. All the while I'm going to be dreaming of warmer weather and a fruity cocktail. 

Today I am super happy to debut my new Uber Clutch in Magenta from Gigi New York! I have been so impressed with their products and this definitely won't be the last item I purchase. The size of this clutch is perfect! It fits my full size wallet, my planner, lip gloss, sunglasses, keys and phone. I love it! (p.s. this would make a fabulous Valentine's Day gift from your special someone or to buy for yourself). 

The newest Gigi Uber Clutch's have inside pockets, which are really nice. I got mine during the Winter Sale so it's from the previous collection (but I'm not complaining as I got it on sale!). The leather is so soft and amazing quality - plus the gold monogram and the tassel seal the deal. 

I'm hoping to buy this, this, & this in the future.

Maybelline Color Elixir

I'm in the mood for pink (scroll below for my Valentine gift ideas) and also in the mood for Spring. In honor of my warm weather woes I thought I'd share two Spring name inspired lip products. I absolutely love the formula of the Maybelline Color Elixir lip glosses. The first color I purchased was Petal plush - a pretty sheer pink. While I was at CVS recently I noticed some new colors and picked up Blushing Petal - a beautiful baby pink {new fav}. 

If you are on the hunt for an affordable lip gloss with a creamy formula, these glosses are for you! They have just the right color payoff for a sheerer formula. There are also a wide range of colors to choose from - plums, reds, pinks, nudes. 

Is anyone else craving a beach vacation or is it just me? Spring & Summer cannot come soon enough!

Okay ladies it's that time of year again.
Candy hearts, chocolate kisses, roses, sweet cards and a lot of pink.

You may already have your pink & red outfit ready to go...or you may be abstaining from Valentine's Day all together. Trust me, I have had good Valentine's Days and my fair share of bad ones, but how can you dislike a holiday that is filled with so much pink?! Yes, if you are single it might seem like this holiday wasn't made for you, but I say that's silly. Whether you eat a bag of kisses while watching Frozen, you have a sleep over with your single bestie or you have a hot date, enjoy every pink minute!

Heck, buy yourself some new lipgloss and be your own best Valentine. There are so many cute gift ideas you can give to a friend or yourself! Some of my favorites are above.


January Favorites

It's that time again - Monthly Top Ten (favorites)!

I've been loving several products that I received in my Sephora Favorites box. I use the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster and Algenist Eye Cream every morning. It wakes me up and creates a nice canvas for my next step, which is my Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer - this stuff is amazing! I haven't purchased the full size, because it is very pricey for primer (very pricey), but I might break down once all my others are gone. It's the best one I've used. 

The First Aid Beauty Lip Therapy is awesome for hydrating my lips in the morning. Usually I exfoliate and then use this balm so that when I put on my lipstick and gloss my lips are nice and smooth. Another must have is Hourglass Luminous Light Powder. I've used this every day all over my face since I got it. I can't get enough! It's the perfect all over luminous highlight without being too much. 

Without surprise the Marc Jacobs The Bronze brush and NARS Ita brush are still my top brush picks. This month I've been using the Marc Jacobs brush for an all over bronze and the Ita for a very precise contour. I put very little product on either one and get an amazing color/contour payoff.

As for the eyes, I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. KatVonD Tattoo Liner. If you love liquid eyeliner (or even if you don't) you will love this one! The felt tip makes a precise line so easy and it stays black and matte all day long. To top it off I use my Chanel Le Volume mascara. I never believed in high end mascaras until I tried Dior and Chanel. This mascara is truly worth every penny and thickens lashes like crazy. 

Lastly, but not least, is my mug from Ashley Brooke Designs. If you haven't looked at her site you need to! She has such cute mugs, tumblers, notepads and even apparel. I love following her Instagram to keep up with new products. I've been loving mugs in general and accumulated three in the past week from Target. Omg! SO cute! If you haven't seen my Instagram lately [pardonmuahinsta] you need to check it out for lots of coffee mug spotlights! Hmmmm...maybe a good giveaway idea.

It's been quite the busy weekend for me between shopping, dinner, friends & fun...not to mention Super Bowl Sunday (yay Pats!). Unfortunately, I'm a little behind so posts will be back up tomorrow!
