Easter Basket

Can you believe this coming Sunday is Easter?!

Time seems to be flying past me this year, which is great during the week, but can we please slow it down on the weekend? Especially this one, because my parents are coming to visit and I just can't wait! I don't get to see them near enough and I"m so happy they are coming to stay with Heidi and I to celebrate the holiday.

I don't know about anyone else who is 26 years old, but I still get an Easter basket and I LOVE it! I look forward to it every year. My mom quit hiding it from me years ago, because I can't find anything to save my life (Easter egg hunting is a nightmare for me and everyone else involved). Even better...when you're an adult the Easter basket goodies are usually much more exciting!

I got the idea for this post after seeing Too Faced Sugar Pop palette on Ulta's website. I am absolutely dying get my hands on it. It looks good enough to eat and the pastel colors are so sweet. Mimicking the colors of yummy macarons. Some other lovely pastel items are EOS lip balm (always a good idea), Gigi New York's Zip Pouches and some patent Tieks - OMG I want a pair so badly and the colors for spring are beautiful!

Later this week I will have my Easter beauty inspiration and possibly an outfit!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to attend a good friend's bridal shower. I was so happy to be in attendance and had so much fun meeting new friends, saying hi to old friends and sharing in Emily's bridal bliss. We played games, ate Chic-fil-A, made a couture toilet paper wedding dress and drank yummy peach & strawberry moscato. The apartment where the event was held was decorated so cute, with bridal banners, giant paper flowers and tons of pictures of the future bride & groom to be. I had a blast during the shower and had an even better time testing out Emily's bridal makeup (yes she has been sweet enough to ask me to do her makeup for the big day! eek!). Seriously, such an incredible honor and I can't wait to see her beautiful face walking down the aisle.

I hope the rest of you had a wonderful weekend too!

Happy Friday and how about those CATS!?

If you don't know, I attended the University of Kentucky for six years and lived almost my entire life in Kentucky. I'm not a huge sports fan, but during basketball season I sure am! 37-0 ladies and gentleman - I can't even tell you how excited I am to see how these next three games play out. I sure hope you have UK winning in your bracket!

Now on to I wanted to share my Benefit boxed blushes. I really can't say enough good things about the quality of these products. At first I didn't really understand the hype, but after hearing over and over how wonderful they were I tried one out. And one turned into four.

I own Hoola, Coralista, Dandelion and Rockateur.
Hoola // best broner & contour...go buy it now!
Coralista // beautiful coral (obvi) with a glowy finish
Dandelion // perfect build-able light pink work shade
Rockateur // fantastic smelling & looking rose gold

There are several other colors available in the boxed blush family and I'd take a gamble saying they are all wonderful as well. You really can't go wrong with most of Benefit's products.

If you've tried a boxed blush that I didn't feature and you love it please tell me in the comments below and have a fabulous weekend. My weekend is jam packed with a bridal shower, makeup sesh, girl date to Cinderella (I literally can't wait), CATS game, Pure Barre, girls brunch, and finally a Cabi party with one of my clients. Phew! Not sure when I will eat, sleep or breathe, but it sure will be fun.

Like most bloggers & beauty gurus, I own quite a bit of makeup - some would argue too much makeup - I'd argue there is no such thing! So when certain products run out I don't always repurchase. Sometimes due to price, sometimes because I didn't fall in love. I don't know about you, but I feel like the products I DO love all run out at the same time. Right now I have several must have items that I need to reorder. I'm not looking forward to footing the bill, but I just can't live without.

Tom Ford Nude Vanille - my perfect lipstick!
Dior Addict It-Lash - best ever for lower lashes
NARS Translucent Powder - daily all over powder
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation - my favorite foundation
NARS Creamy Concealer - best coverage & easy applicator
NARS Turkish Delight Lipgloss - made famous by Kim K
KatVonD Tattoo Liner - world's best liquid liner!
MAC Hue Lipstick - best work color
MAC Prolongwear Concealer - longest lasting
Chanel Mascara - most thickening
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel - essential!
Origins Ginzing Eye Cream - give a beautiful glow

Side note (this is for you mom): I am not repurchasing all of this at the same time or in the near future, because it would cost me a small fortune.

Lulu & Georgia Wish List

Okay ladies, if you haven't shopped with Lulu & Georgia, you best go take a look!

I literally want to buy every print, every gold accessory and every preppy patterned pillow. My first time buying from them online was a couple weeks ago when I ordered two new pillows (Rayna Hot Pink) for my couch. I was looking for a pop of color and found the perfect ones in grey, white and magenta  - plus I could pick the size and whether I wanted down stuffing (I am obsessed with down pillows). You can see one of them in the picture below...even though, as usual, Miss Heidi is trying to steal the show.

Above I've put together some other items I think are fabulous - I mean what woman doesn't want an ice cream cone vase!? And the gold pouf is to die for. I've seen this in several blogger's homes and it's the perfect size for a lonely corner or a great alternative for guest seating. I also love love love their prints. Right now I'm just trying to decide which ones to choose. My color palette in my home is white, gold, pink and mint (in my bathroom). I like to keep my house neutral and light with pops of color here and there. I know the macaron is a must have on my list! They also offer a discount the first time you purchase and usually have some great sales too.

Happy hump day and happy shopping!

I recently fell in love with Sally Hansen's Peach Malibu Miracle Gel Polish. I'm so happy that Spring is here and peach is going to be one of my favorite colors this season. I saw a lifestyle blogger wearing a light peach on her nails and have been trying to hunt one down ever since. While shopping at Target last weekend I found Peach Malibu and snatched it up! (In the pictures above I'm actually wearing acrylics and a gel polish they color matched at the salon, but the colors match exactly - I couldn't believe they matched them so well!). I've also included some of my other favorite pinks & peaches (and a white) that I use quite often during the warmer months.

Essie Marshmallow - white (takes a couple coats)
Essie Sugar Daddy - sheer light pink (best work color)
Essie Mod Square - magenta
Essie A Cut Above- pink & silver sparkles
OPI Mod About You - BEST matte baby pink
Butter London Trout Pout - bright pinky peach
China Glaze Shocking Pink - neon pink (great for the beach)

If you have any favorite Spring & Summer polishes let me know!

MInt Love
My new favorite color is...drumroll please...

MINT - I mean "hello beautiful!"

Lately, I've been exploring colors out of my comfort zone [black, white, navy, blush, nude] and thankfully mint is a color of the season, which means it's super easy to find.

Recently, I found these mint towels at Target from the Nate Burkus collection and quickly threw out my old ones. I've been on the hunt for towels that match my gold & white bathroom and just couldn't decide what I wanted until I saw these - it was a light bulb moment.

I also love Essie's Mint Candy Apple nail polish...but I've never really understood the name. I mean it sounds delicious & pretty, but have you ever seen an apple that is mint colored or tasted an apple that is mint in flavor? haha! Aside from it's interesting name it's an amazing nail polish. Light enough to still be work appropriate, but fun enough to not be boring.

I've also included some items I'm drooling over - Tiek's mint flats (they are designed to fold up in your purse), Tiffany's glamorous tortoise & turquoise shades and Tiffany's pearls (an item I've wanted forever, but never seem to buy).

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and I hope your Monday gets the week off to a good start. I usually cross my fingers and hope for the best!

Best Mascara

I've talked about my favorite mascaras several times here on my blog (probably because it's my favorite and most essential beauty product). Today is not only a spotlight on my favorites, but a mascara combo I cannot live without!

Dior Addict It-Lash is by far the best mascara for the lower lashes. I'm on my second tube since the summer and it'll be something I repurchase from Sephora until the day they stop making it (at which time I will break down in tears). I've never found another mascara that doesn't smudge, at some point during the day, below my lash line.

Now, for the upper lashes I use both It-Lash and Le Volume De Chanel mascara. I heard MakeupByTiffanyD (a YouTube beauty guru) talk about this product several times, but never understand the hype behind luxury mascaras. I couldn't imagine what would be worth spending $30 some dollars. Now I understand. This product thickens lashes like never before - coat lashes, let dry a couple seconds, then coat again (and maybe again if you're me). Then I use It-Lash to separate and lengthen. Quick tip: when you are done coating your lashes take a freshly dipped mascara wand and coat just the tips of your lashes. It leaves a build-able effect that makes your lashes look super long.

Happy hump day!

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I hope you're wearing your green today - no one wants to get pinched all day right?! I decided to wear my usual black & white color palette with a splash of green jewelry. Not that I don't like green clothing, but I think I only own three green items. Lately, kelly green is actually one of my favorite colors, but I don't own anything business professional (thanks corporate job!). The items above are pieces that would make a great touch to a St. Patty's day look - not to mention I'm drooling over these Kendra Scott earrings. And you can never go wrong with a pop of fun colored nail polish.

Happy Monday!

I am very happy to share some exciting news with you today!

I love supporting fellow bloggers, especially young blogs like my own that are just getting started. One of those blogs is called Girl-ish and it was created by my beautiful friend Kiley and her friend Christie. They have been so kind to ask me to contribute to their fashion section twice a month. Today is my first blog contribution and I cannot wait for you all to see my first outfit of choice.

I decided since St. Patty's is next week and most people will be celebrating this weekend, that I would share an outfit that I plan to wear. Something fashionable that doesn't scream "I love leprechauns!" or "Green is my favorite color!" I chose some of my favorite kelly green accessories (which has become one of my favorite colors - in moderation of course).

Please visit there site HERE to view the rest of today's look.

Girl-ish is eclectic, creative & smart. It is a blog filled with girl power and support for all things Girl-ish. They feature a variety of topics from a wide array of contributors. Kiley & Christie write posts and letters, but the majority of the blog is supported by beauty bloggers, foodies and lifestyle enthusiasts. Girls (women) from all over the country talking about important topics, sharing new ideas, giving giggles and helping to make the world a more beautiful place [on the inside and out]. I've found the writing and content to be well worth my time and always a joy. Not every blogger is an english major (proof reading is my demise) but Girl-ish is filled with top notch material.

Make sure to visit them on Facebook HERE and Twitter HERE.

I know you'll love their blog as much as I do.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend full of beautiful Spring like weather, green drinks, plenty of girl time, some puppy cuddles and if you're like me you'll be going to see Cinderella. Yay!

A while back I shared a photo on Instagram (pardonmuahinsta) of the Diptyque gift set one of my best friend's from back home sent me for my birthday. I was so excited and it was even sweeter, because she read one of my blog posts where I made a collage of products I wanted - and the Baies candle was part of it. A big thanks to her again! Love you!

The mini Baies candle smells amazing and came in the most beautiful black box. It also included a fragrance sample and an emulsion sample. I haven't used either just yet, because I've been waiting for a special occasion and I may never light my candle, because it's just too pretty (and not to mention a little pricey). Right now it looks so glamorous sitting on my vanity with my perfumes.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Thanks to a rough winter my skin, face and lips have been very dry. Luckily, Spring is around the corner, but I am still trying to make a conscious effort to take care of my skin at night. I hate when lotions are thick during the day so I apply my body butter, foot cream and lip cream right before bed. That way it can sit all night, soaking in while I sleep. My go to products are:

The Body Shop's body butters are incredible. Usually Ulta will have buy one get one free which is the best time to buy. The scents are so good you'll literally want to eat the lotion (but don't). I've also been using Gold Bond's Ultimate Healing Foot Cream, because thanks to wearing heels every day, my feet can get very rough - I also use this on my hands. Lastly, I always use my Dior Creme De Rose lip cream. Yes this product is expensive, but it is far superior to other lip creams - there is a reason so many beauty bloggers love it. I did find a comparable alternative that only costs $3.99 - Nivea's Raspberry Rose Kiss Lip Balm. The best part is that is smells like Starburst (yet again another product you'll want to eat hah).

Blogger Spotlight

I also wanted to spotlight a fellow blogger today - The Engineered Baker! She was so sweet to feature me on her blog recently. I've been meaning to share, but she posted during my sick delirium so it's taken me a while to catch up. Please visit here to view her post on Pardon Muah.

Farhana resides in Seattle and is an engineer by day and baker/crafter by night. Her baked goods always make me hungry and usually lead me to my cabinet for something sweet! She also shares crafts & fellow blogger profiles. Her blog is new to the blogging world much like my own. Make sure to stop by to show her your support!
