Currently Concealing + Friday Favs

It's Friday Ya'll!

I have some exciting things to share today.

1. I got new glasses!

This may not sound super exciting, but I got new glasses yesterday and I am oh. so. excited. No joke, I haven't purchased new frames & lenses for over THIRTEEN years! I know this sounds crazy, but I never wear my glasses. I've been in contacts since fifth grade and only wear frames at night. Partly because it's less comfortable and partly because I haven't really liked my glasses for the past couple years. I've been lazy and unwilling to spend the money on new ones, but finally decided it was time. Originally, I had planned on getting a pair of from Tiffany's, but the place where I shopped didn't carry the brand. I ended up buying a pair of Lulu Guinness frames and you can see them here (L883). They are tortoise & light pink!

I knew it would take me a while to decide which ones I wanted, because usually I'm incredibly indecisive, but I found a pair I loved right away! They were tortoise & light turquoise by Banana Republic, but sadly I couldn't get them. I have really, really bad eye sight and unfortunately, my prescription is so strong that part of the lens juts out of the back of the frame. That's bad enough, but with the pair I originally fell in love with it would have been crazy looking. SO...I ended up spending two hours in the eyeglasses shop trying pair after pair to see which would look the best and have the least amount of lens showing. Luckily I love the pair I chose and in 7-10 days will be able to wear them around town!

2. My new favorite Starbucks drink

This pretty baby is an Iced Raspberry Caramel Macchiato and OMG it's delicious! I don't know how I've lived without the raspberry syrup for so long. To me, it's 100 times better than the original recipe and of course I love the fact it's pink! You can find the recipe here and some other fun drinks that aren't on the usual menu.

3. My NEW favorite concealer brush

On to today's main post topic! I've been meaning to share my new favorite concealer brush for a while now and finally remembered yesterday while doing my makeup. It's not intended as a concealer brush, but it works SO well. The Real Techniques Sculpting Brush is a very dense synthetic brush so it's great for pressing and blending concealer into the skin, while not eating up the product + it's only $10. & it's angled so you can get into the hard to reach places around the eye. I've been using this as a blending concealer brush for several months now.

Before I use this brush I like to apply an under eye concealer with a pink tone. I apply with a small flat concealer brush and blend with my finger, pressing the product into the under eye area. Then I apply my favorite concealer to highlight my face, blending with the sculpting brush.

4. You can now SHOP my posts!! << yayyyy!

I am so excited to share you can now SHOP MY POSTS. You'll see a product bar below where you can scroll and click through straight to sites where you can buy the items I talk about in my posts. You'll also be able to visit to shop my photos I post on Instagram. I haven't added any yet, but stay tuned and check often! This will make shopping so much easier!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Craving Caffeine

Craving Caffeine

I don't know about you, but my morning is always better & brighter with some yummy Starbucks! I'm very much a creature of habit when it comes to my drink order. I usually go to the same Starbucks location so at this point I don't even have to tell them what I want hah. I've been on a bit of a Starbucks hiatus while I save some money, but I do have some Christmas & birthday gift cards and I'd like to try something new. I started googling Starbucks recipes and found an awesome site ( with all sorts of cool recipes you would never think to order and are not on the regular menu. So I decided I would share some of my favorites with you! Many are pink and perfect for a Valentine's Day treat!

Holy Grail Products

Holy Grail Products
Hair Oil // Hairspray // Facial Spray // Oil Cleanser // Micellar Water // Drying Lotion // Body Shimmer // Self Tanner // Mascara // Eyeliner // Lip Balm // Lipstick

I feel like I've shared quite a few products this week so far. And I feel like I've linked hundreds haha! The items above are ones I feel I cannot live without. It's funny, because I pulled everything out and placed them on the counter so I could write this post and then ended up letting them sit there for a couple days. I tried getting ready without them and I literally could not. I had to keep going back to the pile and pulling things out. I've used all of these products for a very long time and use most on a daily basis. They are my tried & true and I would recommend them to anyone. The price points differ, but most are pretty affordable.

If you have any questions please let me know!

What's in my makeup bag?

Hello everyone!

I'm finally out of the house today after four days straight snowed in. I'm not complaining because I got a lot done - laundry, work, organizing, gym time, cooking, and of course blogging. While I had some time to spare I cleaned out my bathroom drawers and cleaned out my makeup bag. Right now, I'm in the process of moving some things around so my bathroom is a little make shift. I hate having stuff all over my counters so I keep my beauty products nearby in a makeup bag in the top drawer. I have the rest of my makeup housed elsewhere, but I like to keep what I use on a daily basis close by so it's quick and easy when I'm rushing in the morning.

I found this adorable plastic zipper heart print makeup bag at TJ Maxx for only $5.99! I've never even been to that particular section of TJ Maxx before and there were so many cute bags and beauty items. It holds a ton of products as you will see below - with the exception of my setting sprays. If I take this bag with me on the go I will pack my travel size setting spray for a better fit.

I've listed & linked my go-to, day-to-day products below.

Girly #Snowday

SO apparently SW Virginia is getting hit with so much snow we are national news! I can't imagine what it's going to be like on Sunday morning when the snow is finally supposed to stop. It's already so high cars are covered and Heidi can barely walk around (although she thinks it's super fun). I'm not entirely bummed that I'm house bound for a couple days, because I'm stocked up on food and love some quality down time. I plan to get organized, clean the house, watch a ridiculous number of YouTube videos, plan my blog posts for the week and eat lots yummy snacks! Sounds pretty good right?!

I've made a list of all the girly things you can do (in no particular order) if you're snowed in too -
or if you just want a #lazyweekend. Enjoy!

  1. Drink hot chocolate + whip cream & sprinkles
  2. Sleep, sleep, and sleep some more!
  3. Cuddle with your pup
  4. Self tan (Loving Tan is the bestttt)
  5. Give yourself a facial (try GlamGlow)
  6. Moisturize your skin (try GlamGlow)
  7. Watch your favorite movie(s)
  8. Sleep some more :)
  9. Get organized - house, clothes & makeup
  10. Clean your home
  11. Bake some cookies
  12. Exercise!
  13. Play in the SNOW
  14. Condition your hair (try Macadamia)
  15. Paint your nails (my favorite)
  16. Exfoliate your skin & lips
  17. Make sure you smell nice (love)
  18. Keep your lips super soft (the best balm)
  19. Online shop for a Valentine's day gift for your #love
  20. Hydrate!

Happy #snowday!

Lips & Shades + Blush

I thought I'd share some items I've been loving lately + why.

Dior, YSL + NARS Lipglosses
Lately I've been loving a light colored gloss. Ones that are more translucent in color and appropriate for work. I love my lipsticks, but because my lips have been dry (so dry) lip glosses have been my go-to. Three of my favorites are Dior's Lip Maximizer (plumping), YSL's Gloss Volupte (shimmering) and NARS Turkish Delight (made famous by Ms. Kim K). I've repurchased two of these and will definitely repurchase the third - these are tried and true!

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
I featured this product on Monday here. I got in the full size version on Tuesday and it's just as wonderful as the sample. The reason I love this mascara so much? It's voluminous and lengthening while having a dryer formulation. Many times mascaras are very wet when they are new and it creates clumping and less separation of the lashes. Marc Jacobs formulation is very build able!

Karen Walker Number One Sunglasses
I purchased these sunglasses last year for 20% off during Shop Bop's sale. I've been wearing them non-stop and even sold some of my other shades I don't wear any more. I love the tortoise coloring, because they go with so much and work best with my skin tone. Plus, I feel like my pink aviators are much more of a "summer" pair, while these are great for the winter!

Hourglass Cosmetics Ambient Lighting Palette
HUGE thanks to my beautiful girlfriends from back in Kentucky (& Charlotte) who surprised me Tuesday with this amazingggg palette for my birthday! I literally squealed, because I've been wanting it for so long, but could never justify spending the money. I've only had it for a day, but it's already a favorite. The pigmentation is fantastic and these powders look beautiful on the skin! The bronzer and the pink toned highlight are my top two.

The Body Shop Body Butter
Okay...I love TJ Maxx! I went into the store this past weekend for shower curtain hooks and saw so many amazing items. I was tempted to buy everything, but I put on my shopping blinders and told myself "no, no, no." I did, however, say "yes!" to this limited edition CHOCOLATE body butter from The Body Shop. This stuff will make you smell better than a candy bar. Plus, these are normally $20 when sold at full price and I got mine for $5.99!

I hope everyone stays safe today and the next couple days! Apparently the snowpocalypse is quickly approaching SW Virginia and we could get upwards of 30 inches...30 inches! I can't even imagine 30 inches of snow. Im pretty sure Heidi will disappear if I try to take her out - so this will be interesting. On the plus side, I'm planning on a snow day Friday and a lot of down time this weekend. Heidi and I are already in lazy mode as I type this watching the Parent Trap while eating donut holes (I know this is not part of my healthy resolution). Other than eating treats and catching up on sleep, I will be doing lots of cleaning & organizing and also working out at the gym (one of the best perks of my apartment building).

For those of you who don't have to fight people at the grocery store for water and snow shovels, I am oh. so. envious!

Falling For CC

Hello. Hello. Hello.

I have a special post today! One of my very sweet friends approached me a couple weeks ago and asked if I had ever tried Arbonne and I told her I had not. She knows how much I love makeup so she graciously sent me several samples to try. I'm still taking my time to test everything out, but so far my favorites are the primer (it has a silicone like feel) and the CC Cream in light. I usually don't use BB creams or CC creams, but I've been pleasantly surprised by this one - especially the shade she sent! I haven't self tanned in quite a while (giving my skin a break) so the color light is perfect (no orange undertone which is what I prefer).

CC Cream details (via Arbonne's website): Lightweight coverage builds to conceal blemishes and dark spots, and minimizes the appearance of pores while botanicals soothe and hydrate. The formula primes, mattifies and brightens, for a more even-looking skin tone.

Why I like this CC cream? The coverage, although lightweight, is what I would consider medium. A small amount covered my problem areas and any redness. After applying a translucent powder over top, it did a great job of staying in place all day. During the winter months my skin can become really dry so the hydrating properties of this product kept it moisturized throughout the day.

I invited Kristina, my friend, and Independent Arbonne Consultant, to share a little more about the company. Some of the information is extremely eye opening! If you would like to purchase or have any more questions make sure to look for her information below.

Kristina is wearing: RE9 Advanced System
Soft Blush Perfecting Liquid Foundation
 Crème Concealer Light
Setting Pretty Translucent Loose Powder
Bronzer / Blossom Blush / Lotus Lipstick

A note from Kristina:

Did you know the majority of the toxins that we are exposed to are found in our personal care products? When you place a product on your skin it is absorbed into your bloodstream within 26 seconds!

Three of the most important things that set Arbonne apart are:

#1 Swiss formulation

There are 3 levels of skin care: Economy (drug stores), Premium (many mall brands), and Ultra Premium (Swiss). The Swiss are known for precision and purity and do not use filler in their products. Hence it is 100% pure. Interesting fact:1200 cosmetic ingredients were banned in Europe and only 10 have been banned in the US.

#2 No use of mineral oil

The number one filler in American products is mineral oilInteresting fact: Mineral oil is the second most aging ingredient next to the sun. Crude oil is the black oil that comes out of the earth and it's refined to make diesel fuel then refined to make gasoline and refined to make Vaseline (i.e. petroleum jelly) and then refined again to make mineral oil. The molecules are too large to penetrate our skin and the mineral oil acts as a saran wrap keeping the toxins inside. This can lead to oily skin and acne.

#3 Vegan certified

Our products are vegan and are not tested on animals. Interesting fact: Some companies buy from rendering plants where they take unwanted waste (i.e. meat past its expiration date) and vats of used oil from fast food chains and boil it all down. The fat that rises to the top is scraped off, sold and heavily fragranced. It’s called tallow and it is not regulated in the US, nor is it on any ingredient label.

Since Arbonne is a holistic minded company and looks at one's health from the inside out, we also have a nutrition line. Arbonne's nutrition products are gluten free, soy free, dairy free, free of artificial ingredients, low glycemic index, GMO free, and pH correct! In other words, Arbonne nutrition is more regulated than anything you can find on a store shelf!

Luxurious Wish List

Luxury Wish List

Good Morning Friends!

I was having a hard time deciding what to post about today so I thought I'd share my updated luxury wish list. I posted one last year here. I definitely will not be buying all of these items in 2016, or even a couple of them (I am on a major spending freeze), but I think it's always great to have reasons to save your money - things to aspire to buy. Whether it's a new car, a home, a piece of jewelry...whatever suits your fancy! All of these are items I've had my eye on for a while or recently found and fell in love - like the brand new Triangl Bowie bikini in Passion Pop (literally drooling).

The first item I plan to purchase is the blow dryer from Bio Ionic. You all have probably seen me post about this before. I finally purchased my new ghd straightener last week - it's amazing, so this is next on the list. I've had my blow dryer for over eight years now and I need something that does more than just dry my hair. The Bio Ionic is actually supposed to reduce drying time, combat frizz, it's under one pound and supposedly it could last you forever - that's right FOREVER (insert clip from The Sandlot - that one's for you babe).

The Louis Vuitton makeup bag, Louboutins and David Yurman are all way out of reach at the moment, but will be items I save for in the future. I saw the Renaissance Bracelet on Facebook the other day and died. I cannot even express how lovely I think it is! Kelly green has become one of my favorite colors and surprisingly it goes well with so many things. My Michael Kors Skylar watch in green has been on my wrist nonstop for over a year with every outfit.

I've also been pining over IKEA's Hemnes Dressing Table for several months now and it matches all of my new bedroom furniture! I'm hoping to purchase it soon - I love the built in drawers and the large mirror that is already attached. Plus I think my vanity chair I already own will pair perfectly!

Oh and who wouldn't want macarons?! Those are on my wish list every. single. day. Fun fact: my all time favorite macaron store is Olivia Macaron - delicious!

The Best Mascara

I mean...woah! No falsies here!

So this may seem a tad dramatic, but this post is a BIG deal!

I've been wearing the same mascara (Too Faced Better Than Sex) for well over a year now and when I say I've been wearing the same one, I literally don't own any other mascaras (except Dior's It-Lash Addict that I wear solely on my bottom lashes). I recently made a Sephora purchase with some Christmas/Birthday money and luckily Marc Jacob's NEW Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara was a 100 point sample. I've been dying to try it after hearing rave reviews, but everyone has a lash preference so I never really know if I will feel the same way. Plus nothing has ever lived up to my tried and true Better Than Sex.

Not kidding.

I used this sample once.

I was amazed.

I fell in love.

This is the best mascara I have ever used! (Insert clapping emoji hands for Marc Jacobs).

My usual mascara is running low, so I will absolutely be purchasing the full size version of Velvet Noir very soon. And I foresee many, many full size tubes in my future. Side note: the wand for this mascara is very similar to Better Than Sex. If you like BTS you will absolutely adore this one - probably more! I have been so pleased with Marc Jacobs makeup products, especially his brushes. They are worth every penny and my all time favorites. Amazing quality!

I hope everyone has a glamorous Monday!

Combating Winter Woes

Winter Skin Savers

Winter is officially here and I don't know about you, but it's reeking havoc on my skin. I woke up yesterday and my lips were so dry they were starting to split and my hands need a gallon size tub of hand cream. So I thought I'd share my favorite products for combating dry skin. These are also amazing if you travel, because the air is extremely drying. If you're flying AND it's winter...boy! may need all of these items!

Something simple you can do, and should always do, is drink lots of water. Drinking water will make a huge difference in your skin. I try to place 2-3 water bottles on my desk so that during the day I consciously drink them. I also keep The Body Shop Hand Cream in my desk drawer. I hand sanitize all day since I work in a hospital and I don't want any winter bugs, so I try and put hand lotion on directly after. Right now my hands are so dry that I may even have to put Vaseline on my knuckles at night to keep them from cracking.

Another Body Shop product I LOVE (LOVE) is their Body Butter. It's not only the most hydrating product I've ever used, it smells good enough to eat. Seriously, go smell them and tell me any different! I find that if I use this in the morning, my skin is still hydrated at the end of my work day. I also use Dior's Creme de Rose lip balm, which I've talked about numerous times. It's quite pricey, but nothing else I've used works as well. Normally I just put this on at night, but I've been toting it around in my handbag and using throughout the day.

At night I use my Glam Glow Thirsty Mud. It smells heavenly and is thick enough to last through the night. You may not even need a moisturizer when you wake up. But if you do, try First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream. It comes at a very reasonable price, lasts a long time and is great for anyone with sensitive skin. Lastly, I use Ole Henriksen's Fresh Start Eye Cream to keep my under eye quenched and less puffy.

If you know of any other dry skin savers please let me know!

Pantone Winter Fashion

Casual Winter Pantone

Hat // Sweatshirt // Jeans // Boots // Mug // Lipstick // Earrings

Good Morning Friends!

Currently in southwest Virginia the weather is frighteningly chilly and winter gear is a necessity if you don't want to freeze. Especially if you live the apartment life with a fur baby and have to defrost your car and take early morning walks. I thought I'd put together a super warm & cute outfit for today's post. This is what I wish I was wearing to work today.

Starting with the footwear, these Uggs are my favorite of all time. To my boyfriend's dismay, I love Uggs and I've acquired quite the collection. This pair is by far the comfiest and the warmest. I keep them by the door at all times to run Heidi outside. The jeans are from H&M and I've had mine for well over a year now. Very inexpensive for denim and they've held up really well.

I found the sweatshirt while pursuing H&M online and thought it was too cute. I love tees and sweatshirts with cute script sayings. The hat is from Nordstrom and only $16! I absolutely love the color - it reminded me of one of the Pantone Universe colors of the year - and the pom on top makes it!

The coffee cup is a given - who doesn't drink coffee every morning?! ... (okay maybe it's not everyone) The earrings I purchased from H&M for under $4 and got four pairs of different size rhinestones. Great for those of us who are notorious for misplacing earrings. The lipstick is a product I'm dying to try! I haven't seen it in person yet, but I love a light pink and the packaging is beautiful!

See you tomorrow!

Pop. Fizz. Clink. canvas and "A" mug are both from TJ Maxx!

Sweater was a Christmas gift and is from INC and pants are Express.

Clear & rhinestone watch from Michael Kors. Love!

Found this jacket for $25 at H&M! Pants are express (where I get the majority of my work pants).

One of my favorite quotes - makes you think!

I've had a ton of questions about my hair lately and what I use for volume. I actually don't use a volumizing product. I have very thick, coarse hair so it holds shape really well. I do tease my hair every day and spray it with Elnett (unscented).

"But first coffee" tee from Target, distressed jeans from H&M and my Jack Rogers. Yes, it is January, but I went to get my toes done for my birthday and didn't want to mess them up!

I absolutely love my bedroom pillows. The animal print is from Furbish Studio and the grey & pink is from Lulu & Georgia. All are down, because it allows me to karate chop them so they sink in the middle :).

H&M sweater, J.crew pants and Coach boots (several years old).

Jean + jean running errands this past weekend + J.crew Factory booties & the original vest!

The sweetest monogram jewelry dish from my best friend - it came in my "will you be my maid of honor" care package. I cried like a baby hah! Incredibly honored.

Winter coat from H&M - it has a super soft lining and covers your behind.

Alo leggings, Target tee and some comfy Uggs!

Still in love with my pink Ray Ban aviators - make sure to check online, because these are on sale quite often!

I got dental work done last week and my face has never been so numb. It was actually sore for three days after :(. I thought I could go to work, but couldn't talk and was drooling out of one side of my mouth (yes, it was comical and embarrassing) so I quickly decided to work from home. This frap was the first thing I had to eat or drink all day and it was glorious!

I hope you enjoyed this Instagram round up! Have a fabulous Tuesday!

I'm traveling a lot for work this week which is tiring, but it means I get home a little bit earlier which is always a plus. I'm also trying to get back on the workout wagon so keep your fingers crossed!
