Feeling So Fall

Hello! It's another Monday... oh, how quickly they come around. Justin and I had a fairly productive weekend shopping for the house and continuing to get settled. Yesterday we were so excited to buy a new big screen TV to go above our mantle. We made three trips to the store just to get all of the right cords, connections, etc. We had everything perfectly arranged and ready, lifted the TV up onto the mount, situated all of the wires... and... the TV was totally defective! And did I mention we had to go and rent a truck just to get it since it's too big to fit in both our cars? SO now I have to call the store, plead our case, see if someone will come pick up the broken one and deliver a new one... AND give us a discount for our time and trouble. It's sort of funny, I've definitely become the bulldog/negotiator in our relationship. I always thought it would be Justin but surprisingly it's me. I almost enjoy discussing terms and disappointing situations with customer service representatives. I'm always very nice... I just refuse to pay for something broken or unsatisfactory and I expect something to be done to satisfy my particular predicament.

The Sweater Skirt Combo

oversized sweater with faux leather skirt and tory burch boots

TGIF, guys, and gals! I hope everyone has had a fabulously productive week and you're ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy the weekend. I know Justin and I are ready to be out of the "moving in" phase of our new house. We still have several loose ends we are taking care of today, Saturday, and Sunday, but luckily we are almost ready to get settled and decorate. Fortunately, our moving company came through and is graciously reimbursing us for all the damage that was done to our stuff (I talked about this is my cross-country move post on Monday). So now we can replace and rebuy.

Adding Fall Accessories

target floppy hat lush clothing burgundy tunic

Hello, hello! My apologies today's post went up a little late. They came out to bury our cable line yesterday and in the process accidentally cut off our TV and internet lol. So I had to wait until this morning to finish up my work. I'm super excited to share some Fall accessories with you... jewelry, hats, boots, and bags. So many beautiful items you can add to a simple pair of leggings and a cute top.

Fall OOTD

fall outfit

I'm finally getting back on schedule today. I asked yesterday on Instastories which post you would prefer - a Fall OOTD collage or a Q&A. It was super close but Fall OOTD ended up the winner! I still plan on doing the Q&A so please message me with your questions. Today's post is a chic, girly Fall outfit that I pulled together from new items I found online. I can't get over these leopard print mules that are under $90! They are dupes for a designer pair but look just as nice. I'm also obsessing over this shirt dress in burgundy paired with the blouson sleeve cardi - the perfect combo!

I hope everyone has a fabulous, cool weather weekend. I've been loving the cooler temps this week here in Virginia. I actually got to pull out my sweaters and UGG boots because it was in the 40's. And I'm already cold natured so I even wore a winter jacket one morning when appliances were being delivered lol. If you've been keeping up with me on IG you know that we finally have a fridge, washer, and dryer... unfortunately the wrong fridge, but that should get fixed Saturday. We also had quite a few higher priced items damaged by our movers and are waiting for a claim to go through to replace them - so disappointing!

On the plus side, we finally get to go grocery shopping (woohoo!) and will finally be getting settled minus a few minor things that need to get done. Boy! Moving cross country + buying a home is a lot of work. Super grateful but definitely ready to relax on the couch with some candy and watch 13 Days of Halloween. I live for Freeform holiday movies!

How To Start A Blog | A Beginner's Guide

blogging on laptop

morkie sleeping on bed

Recently, I've been receiving a lot of questions about blogging. How to start a blog, blogging recommendations, pieces of advice, how to make money, what is LiketoKnow.it, etc. I'm always happy to respond and have no qualms talking about this subject, but it's such a long answer it can be quite time consuming to email or DM repeatedly. So I thought I'd create a post with simple steps on "How To Start A Blog" for anyone interested.

You Guys! Today is the day. We finally get to close on the house this afternoon! We are extremely excited to finally move in as it seems like it's been forever (really it's been a month lol). We have to run over to the house this morning to make sure all of the final touches have been completed and then Justin has to sign on the dotted line! I'm so incredibly proud of him for working so hard to make this home a reality. Hashtag PROUDGIRLFRIEND. All of our belongings will be arriving Saturday and we can't wait to get everything put away. It'll be a little crazy for a bit as our washer and dryer won't be coming for a little while so I'm sure our laundry room will be full by the time they do lol. We also still need to get a refrigerator and blinds... but that should be done super soon! You don't realize how crucial appliances are until you don't have them. I'm excited to make a grocery trip so I can go back to eating healthy and to actually start cooking again.

For today's post, I wanted to share ten new Fall pieces on-trend and under $50. There are so many amazing knits and sweaters for very affordable prices this year! As you'll see above, there's no need to spend an arm and a leg on your cool-weather wardrobe. EXCEPT on essentials like jeans, boots, and coats. Sometimes it pays to spend more on staples. I'm absolutely loving the cinched waist dress in blush! I think it would wear well for work, dressed up, or even for more casual days. I also highly recommend the camisole because they are so practical and perfect for having on hand when you want to throw on a cardigan or a leather jacket. The one above comes in three colors tailored to the season.

Have a fabulous weekend and follow me along on IG Stories as we move into the house!

Our Day Trip To Tahoe

Hello, Friends! It feels like it's been so long since I last posted. I'm quite tardy with today's post as I missed Monday but hey, better late than never right?! I'm super excited to share this special set of photos today. Justin and I decided to head up to Tahoe on our last day in California because, in our two years of living there, had never gone (gasp). Our friends were constantly telling us how much we were missing out. So we couldn't leave without seeing it for ourselves and took a fun day trip to see the sites and to take some scenic photos.

I created a Fall look with this gorgeous plaid infinity scarf from Frou Frou & Frill and after, decided this would be the perfect tailgating outfit. The scarf adds just the right amount of color and pattern - I love the mustard and teal green! How cute would it be to recreate but with the colors of your favorite team?!

New Hair | I Got Extensions

luxy hair extensions blush sweater jeans

Hi, Friends! I have so much to tell you today. It's MOVING DAY! If you didn't know, Justin, Heidi and I are headed back to the east coast from California where we've been for the last two years. We are super excited for the move because we purchased a home and are chomping at the bit to get into it. It's going to be such a change from where we are now... we will finally have central heat & air, an ice maker, a dishwasher, and a walk-in closet! Yay! We will be staying with family and in a hotel for a week or two while we wait to close on the house, and while our cars and belongings travel from Sacramento to Virginia. If you've never moved cross country, boy, is it a lot of logistics! I think the hardest part is packing things into storage and deciding what will come with you. For example, you can't ship liquids via a moving company so you either have to throw them out or pack them in your luggage. Needless to say, we've thrown a lot of stuff away and my "liquid" specific bag is 43 pounds of makeup and toiletries. All packed in towels and bubble wrap so that they hopefully survive the plane ride. Another thing you have to keep in mind is traveling with all of your sensitive documents. I got Justin and I accordion folders to organize everything important on paper and thankfully he's willing to carry those along in his backpack. When I moved to California back in 2016 I wrote a post with helpful tips you can read HERE.

Anyhow... On to today's exciting post about my new extensions from Luxy Hair
