Justin's Red Velvet Cheesecake

I'm so excited to share a baking post with all of you today! I actually didn't plan to post anything to do with cooking or baking, but I couldn't help but share when J decided to make a delicious red velvet cheesecake this weekend. I was so impressed I told him I had to document it and share.

All of the credit goes to Justin's kitchen skills and RECIPE GIRL where he found the recipe.

For those who don't know, Justin is a mechanical engineer, which I think is why he's amazing at following instructions (i.e. building IKEA furniture) and recipes. He decided all on his own to bake up this red velvet cheesecake and seriously, had zero help from me. We LOVE to watch baking and cooking shows on TV... seriously, it's an obsession. So after he was finished, which took several hours (since things need to cool in the fridge in separate steps), we talked about how impressive the bakers are on TV who get three hours to make a five-tiered wedding cake haha. I don't know how they do it!

You can find the recipe he used and ingredients needed via RECIPE GIRL.

I was going to include the instructions in this post, but I think it's really important to give credit where credit is due to other bloggers and businesses so please visit her site to find all of the info. needed. Writer and baker, Lori, deserves all of the praise! While you're on her site, you may find some other fun things to bake! (btw this is in no way sponsored... just a great recipe J found online)

Under SHOP THE POST you'll find the tools needed to make this recipe, like the round pans (you'll need two), springform pans, icing tools, red food coloring, and mixer. I also found my blue and white dishes for resale so I included those links as well, in addition to my gold and white vase!

Have a great start to your week!

  1. Omg thank you for sharing!!! My fiancé loves red velvet and cheesecake, 2 of his favorite sweets! I never thought of baking the combo before, guess he's going to have dessert this weekend (;
