I stopped by the mall on Wednesday to return a couple things, and of course, as usual, I found a couple more things (plus some), to replace them. Does anyone else do that?!

I had a couple Back To MAC products burning a hole in my purse and was also in need of some new self-tanner. I've gotten into such a habit of self-tanning (once a week) that when I run out of something I use regularly, nothing else will do! I swear by my self-tanner & mitt, and while at the mall, picked up a couple new products I heard were good on Instagram. + some new makeup!

MY SCARF in this post is from Vici Dolls.

I get a lot of questions about my lip combos and 99% of the time my default is a light nude or light pink. While at MAC I was chatting with my go-to makeup artist (she's so sweet! If you live in the area, definitely ask for Brittany!) and I was telling her that I love to try new things but I always end up right back at light nudes and light pinks. Of course, every now and again, I love a hot pink lip, but my every day will probably always be the same. What I'm trying to say is I might as well keep buying what I love the most, even if it means owning every variation of tan and pink out there.

While at the MAC counter, I picked up Creme D'Nude which I used to own (and love) but somehow along the way it got lost in transit. SO I picked up another and love the consistency! To go on top, I picked up two glosses. One in C-thru... and awesome light nude lipglass that is nice and opaque, and secondly, Sugarrimmed... a GORGEOUS dazzleglass that is the perfect light nudey pink.

ALSO, the product I've been the most excited to share - a new highlighter. I shared it on stories two days ago and so many of you sent messages requesting to know what it was. It's an Iridescent Powder in silver that literally transforms the skin! I was shocked by how much I love it. It's a loose powder that gives the skin a glowy and super smooth look. You could even use it on the shoulders or decolletage.

Lastly from MAC, I grabbed a 2705 brush which is new to the line. It's the perfect size for concealer and I cannot wait to try it out! Finding a great concealer brush is EVERYTHING!! Also, I have to say MAC brushes are still at the very top of my list for their quality. Along with Tom Ford, and Eco Tools.

Now, moving on to Ulta. I knew I was running low on my favorite self-tanner so I picked up another while at the mall. I've been using the St. Tropez Extra Dark for months now and I cannot get enough! The color payoff is amazing and such a true tan coloring, not orange. It goes on with a bit of a green tint and does look VERY dark before you shower, but never fear, after you wash off it looks incredible. Along with it, I use the St. Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted lotion every day. It makes my tan last longer and it's tinted so it gives the prettiest glow. I really really think it makes a difference!

I was also really excited to pick up two NEW tanning products that one of my gal pals @breanadoddsmith (she's a doll!) mentioned on IG. The first is from Fake Bake which I've actually never heard of before. The reason I got it was that she said it dries super fast (not sticky) so if you're in need of a quick tan with no time to shower, or for an added glow for photos, it's super easy to use. She also recommended Vita Liberata Body Blur. She demonstrated on IG and it's like a real-life filter for your skin. Sort of similar to the St. Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted but without the self-tanner.

Lastly, on a total whim, I picked up Ariana Grande's new fragrance Sweet Like Candy. Fun fact, I am obsessed with Ariana Grande. I got to see her in concert in California and it was the best time! I love her so much that if I met her I would probably faint and forget my name haha. So when I saw the packaging and obviously her name, I needed this cutie in my life. And to be totally honest, it smells awesome! Her fragrances have great reviews and I love a sweet-scented perfume (top notes: sparkling blackberry, vanilla, Italian bergamot, and pear).

Unfortunately, my lip mitt wasn't available online at Ulta, but I did find it elsewhere!
Under SHOP THE POST I've linked my tried and true tanning mitt - the best I've ever used.

BTW, all of the photos in this post were taken with my iPhone. I wanted to show that you don't have to have a fancy camera to blog. Obviously, it has its uses and I do recommend it at some point in your journey but there are plenty of apps to achieve quality photos. I used Lightroom mobile and desktop!

Have the best weekend!

  1. I constantly switch back and forth between the Fake Bake and St. Tropez Extra Dark self-tanners! The Fake Bake is not sticky at all and I've never had an issue with it transferring to my clothes or sheets!

  2. Hi Amanda. I love this post! I was so excited to find out which highlighter you bought, so I'll definitely be purchasing it. I am obsessed with MAC products and would love it if you did a post about all the MAC products you use...blush color, brushes, etc. I loved when you shared all the MAC lip liner and lipstick combos! That was the best! Love your blog!
